Kinja'd!!!

I just found a bunch of pics I thought were gone for good.

This was 2002 or 03 at my old house. That's an 1980 AMC Eagle, a low serial too #101 for 1980, I drove that home from Ottumwa, Ia to the Chicago burbs. And my 83 Cherokee WT Ebay "win" that I shipped from South Carolina. That thing was a mess but it turned out fair.

Here's a 73 Chevelle that my Dad and several friends built. This pic would have been around 1997.

Kinja'd!!!

More recently.. A 79 Cherokee Chief I had to give up before moving to Iowa.

Kinja'd!!!

Funny thing on that one. I bought it for $700 on a FSJ forum, non-running. Because of that it cost $1100 to ship it to Chicago from Northern Cali..

The time machine?

That's so I can go back and slap "younger" me every time I decided to sell a vehicle.

Holy shit, that '73 Chevelle is awesome. Its always nice to see a Colonnade A-Body, even if it is in an old picture.

Jeez, For some reason I love every single color of all the cars pictured.

I'll have another Collonade. I'd love a 73-74 Monte really.

I won't go as far as I did with that car ever again. That whole front clip, door shells and decklid were fiberglass repops. When all was said and done we had about $20k into it and she still weighed 3800 lbs!

The Green Jeep was painted with Rustoleum "Hammered" and a roller while I was a bit "Hammered" one day.

Heck yeah. Can't hate on any Colonnade Montes. My dream Colonnade would probably be a '73 LeMans or a '73 Grand Am.

Jesus, that's crazy! Yeah, I probably wouldn't go that route again. Still extremely cool, though. What'd you have in it? Some sort of BBC, I'm guessing?

I drilled several holes for driving lights on my GMC, whilst drinking beerth one time. Only used 2 of them, but I had created several options that day...

Thought you said bleach for a second, Haha. That would not be good.

That cracked me up though, Haha.

Seemed like a good idea at the time?

Sobriety, sadly, is no fun at all.. But it is necessary at some point.

Agreed, There's a certain point where it's best for everyone. I'd say once I settle down, and have kids.

You know that saying "Measure twice, Cut once"?

"Dammit! I cut this bar two times and it's still short.." Yeah, I've mumbled those words.

It had an IL code 427 for a 67 Corvette. I sold that separate from the car to a guy in NY.

If I could find a Pontiac CanAm I'd be a happy guy! But a black on black 73 Monte would be ideal.

Bleach would be problematic, yes...but my teeth would be nice and white...

Well, it was more like: Drink a couple of beers the measure once and drill then decide (while working on another beer) that you didn't like where you drilled the holes the first time. Lather, rinse, repeat. Fortunately they were fairly inconspicuous...

Really why? I just got a 79 Wagoneer and I love it.

Only thing I don't like is that everything feels crammed on the front of the 360 and it has electrics issues.

Cheaper than those Crest whitening strips probably. That's for sure.

Damn, sweet! I wouldn't have expected that. Very cool.

I would LOVE to have a Can Am. Sad thing is, the only ones left are either pristine and too expensive, or completely trashed basket cases. A '73 Monte would probably be easier to find, and almost equally as cool.

I just dont think they're worth what some are asking for them. But I'm a cheap arse.

Hey, if your A/C needs a charge, Propane works great in place of R12, If you don't mind the potential safety issues.

What electric issues are you having?

I only got $1800 into it cus I'm a cheap arse as well. No way I'd pay 40k for some of those restored late model ones like you see on the internet.

The tailgate is being a real bitch and the dash switches are completely random whether they work at all.

Kinja'd!!! Birddog > Jedidiah

$1800 isn't bad at all.

I swear AMC went to Lucas for electrics. If you have an ammeter in your dash cluster bypass it asap.

The switches probably have corrosion in the connectors. Clean all of the connectors and grounds and you should be ok.

Any pics?

Here's the only picture I've taken of it so far. The beige appears to be factory paint, not sure if they came in two tones though. It does have some rocker rot that you can't see, but I can easily fix that.
